ADAPTATIONS II LOADING ... PERFORMING 2024... FILM 2025

"Adaptations II" is a personal piece that explores navigating the artist space as a BIPOC individual. What started out as a piece that portrayed dance artist “Shenel Williams” time and experience in the York University Dance Program; conveyed through dance. Has shifted and transformed into an expression of the whirlwind of emotions that comes with navigating the artist's space as a BIPOC individual.

Through each of the performance's sections, we hope to bring the audience through the phases of joy, complacency, inauthenticity, triumph, suppression and defeat. As it begins an individual journey, it quickly becomes a story about a shared experience and pressing into the importance of finding one's tribe.

ADAPTATIONS 2 is set to premiere as part of the Two Fold Residency Exhibition in January 2025, entitled Growing pains.

Body Love By Shanique Peart

BOdy Love is a short dance film that explores womanhood and the relationship we have with our bodies. It is a multidisciplinary and collaboration project with the goal of highlighting and celebrating our individual and yet shared experience as we navigate being a woman in the bodies we have.

Using visual art, poetry, dance and theatre.  We focus on a single individual and her struggle as she shifts from her external battle into her internal world; embodying the woman's world.

Body Love is set to premiere as part of the Two Fold Residency Exhibition in January 2025, entitled GROWING PAINS.
